Village Vets Surgery Testimonials

I had cause to attend The Village Vets this afternoon with one of my dogs who was giving me cause for concern. I would like to express my gratitue to all the staff there. What exellent ambassadors they are for Rutland House as a whole.

The auxilliary veterninary nurse who answered the telephone when I call to arrange the appointment was extremely polite and ever so helpful as were Pam ( QVN ) and the vet Michelle when I got to the surgery..

When I explained to Michelle the concerns that I had, she explained everything to me in terminology that I understood. She took her time and gave my dog a thorough checking over explaining what issues my dog had and what the best treatments were and why, she also took her time answering all the questions that I asked.

I don't know if Rutland House have a recognition scheme for staff, if there is one I would like to nominate the ladies working at The Village Vets this afternoon. The service they gave was second to none.

Many thanks and kind regards

Judith Johnson

Max, Delia, Sally, Sarah and Nina.

To tell you a little about myself, I am the proud owner of 5 rescued ex-racing greyhounds, Max, Delia, Sally, Sarah and Nina. My husband and I rescued our first greyhound 5 years ago and 4 more quickly followed. Their ages range from 10 to 6 years old.

We first travelled to the practice on Abbotsfield road but found the practice at Bryn to be more convenient. We were impressed from day one with the friendly, welcoming and professional attitude of all the staff.

More recently, one of our greyhounds, Delia became unwell and our visits to the practice increased. Her condition was diagnosed as Cushings disease and an underactive thyroid gland by our vet Michelle Weston. Her care and dedication is amazing. She explains everything in as much detail as I need and I never feel rushed when asking question after question! Michelle often rings us in the evening, long after she should have gone home to discuss blood test results that have just arrived as she knows we are anxious to learn how Delia is coping with her medication. Michelle also makes me feel valued as an owner and listens carefully when I describe how Delia is at home. Financing a sick pet is a concern for most people and not everybody can afford to insure their pet. As Delia is an old dog (she will be 10 in June) we found it difficult to get an affordable insurance plan so we have been financing her treatment without insurance which has been rather costly. However, I have never felt that Michelle has suggested investigations or treatment without consideration of cost. I feel that she doesn't 'overcharge' and always considers effectiveness without compromising on care or safety.

All of the veterinary nurses are also fantastic. They make a fuss of all the animals that come into the surgery and seem to know each of them by name. They are kind, caring and compassionate to owners as well as animals. I have witnessed on many occasions when an anxious owner rings the practice for an appointment, the wonderful way they speak on the telephone and go out of their way to help. They are also very skilled and efficient in their role as Delia has needed many blood tests and as most greyhound owners know, they don't make the best patients!

The surgery is clean and hygienic and notice boards updated regularly. There is a warm and happy 'family feel' to the practice which is invaluable as to most owners, their pet is a part of their family. I have trust and confidence in both Michelle the vet and the veterinary nurses, Nicole, Pam and Sarah (sorry if I've forgotten any names!) and I would recommend this practice to all pet owners.

If I could nominate this practice for an award - I most certainly would!

Pip & Jake

Pip & Jake have been registered at the Village Vet for over 3 years.
They are both 11 years old and from the same litter. The staff are all really friendly and helpful.
Never have a problem getting an appointment. We have had a few issues with Pip this year and the vet Michelle Weston could not be more thorough or helpful. If Michelle has needed to speak to me regarding Pip's treatment she always phones and doesn't keep you waiting for days which I really appreciate when you are already worrying about your pet. Jake has only received his boosters and check ups but once again each time I've taken them Michelle is really nice as my boys are quite excitable especially Pip so it's good I am never kept waiting for long.
